Keep reading to learn how to use kratom for stress in the workplace.
Stress in the Workplace: Causes and Risks
It is only logical to experience stress in the workplace. In fact, a bit of stress can even be somewhat “positive “as it can bring about a better performance or higher productivity. However, there are times when stress is too high, and those who experience it have a high risk of suffering from anxiety, depression or cardiovascular disease.
These are some of the main factors that cause work stress:
Tight deadlines: People who have to meet tight deadlines are commonly under a lot of pressure. However, if these deadlines are unrealistic the levels of stress may increase dangerously.
Poor management: Employees dealing with a poor management feel more insecure and with a sense of lack of direction. A weak management can create insecurity in the workplace. Likewise, micromanagement makes people believe that they are not good enough or that their management does not trust them. Needless to say, these situations can also end up in job stress quite easily.
Job insecurity: It goes without saying that if your job is on the line you will likely feel stressed. Not knowing if your job is going to continue (or being aware that it can be terminated at any moment) is indeed very stressful. It causes insecurity due to the uncertainty of what is going to happen, but also fear before the risk of losing a job.
Excessive workload: When the workload is excessive, it is completely normal to feel stressed and anxious. Very often, individuals coping with unmanageable workload see themselves overwhelmed by the situation and don’ know how to handle it.
Overtime work: Long work hours (especially if they are over time) are associated with high level of stress, fatigue, and sleeping disorders. But working overtime also affects your personal and family life, as it weakens the balance between your work and your personal life, putting a strain on your personal relationships.
Hostile work environment: When a person does not feel comfortable in his or her workplace, the levels of stress can increase rapidly and even lead to depression. The work environment can be hostile due to harassment, bullying, bad relationships with colleagues or to some of the previous factors (such as a poor management or excessive workload).
Some Basic Facts About Kratom
If you are suffering from work stress, you will find it difficult to perform your job or even go to your workplace. Many people use anxiolytics or anti-depressants to cope with the stress, but these drugs have dangerous side effects and can cause addiction. Fortunately, there is a natural product that can help you without the risks of those medications: kratom. If you don’t know kratom yet, these are some basic facts you need to know.
Kratom is a tree that grows in Southeast Asia. Its scientific name, Mitragyna speciosa, refers to its most abundant alkaloid, mitragynine. The leaves of the kratom tree have more than 20 alkaloids, but the most potent ones are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These alkaloids act on the Delta, Mu and Kappa receptors in your brain, bringing about analgesic or relaxing effects.
Thanks to its alkaloids, kratom can:
- Relieve pain
- Alleviate anxiety
- Mitigate depression
- Provide relaxation
- Fight insomnia
- Improve focus, concentration, and creativity
- Boost your energy
- Improve your mood
The wide range of kratom effects depends on the dosage and the kratom strain. Generally speaking, we can state that low doses provide energizing effects, while high doses are more sedative.
Regarding the strain, white kratom strains are more energizing, green kratom strains are more euphoric and analgesic and red kratom strains have the most potent analgesic and sedative effects.
Kratom for Stress in the Workplace: How Can It Help?
First of all, kratom has relaxing effects. Even the energy boost that stimulating strains provide will not make you feel nervous or anxious. So, if you are suffering from work stress, kratom will provide you with a nice feeling of relaxation. While red kratom strains are more relaxing than other varieties, they may be too sedative for the workplace. Instead, we recommend you use a green strain.
Kratom increases your motivation and boosts your energy up. As a result, you will be more productive and feel more optimistic. White kratom strains are the most recommendable for an energy boost.
Furthermore, if you are not capable of focusing, kratom also improves your focus and concentration. You will notice how you can better focus on the tasks you are performing and, therefore, you will be more productive. Green Malay and white kratom strains are great for enhancing focus and concentration.
Kratom has euphoric effects that will make you feel better and enhance your mood. Thanks to kratom’s euphoria, you will feel capable of managing and coping with stress much better. Green kratom strains are very effective in promoting euphoria.
Kratom Side Effects
The side effects of kratom include:
- Constipation
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Stomach issues
- Loss of libido
In some cases, kratom can even cause eye wobbles.
While in most cases these side effects are not dangerous, they can be very unpleasant. The best way to avoid them is to be cautious with the dose. So, if you want to use kratom for stress in the workplace make sure you consume the right dosage.
How to Cope with Work Stress
There are many steps and actions that can help you fight stress in the workplace:
Communicate
Talk to your management and colleagues about what is happening and involve them in finding a solution. They may not be even aware of the problem. Even if you could feel as if you are putting the blame on others, or if you want to avoid a conflict, keeping it all to yourself will not solve the problem.
Acknowledge that you cannot control everything
There are certain things (many things, in fact) that are beyond your control and there is nothing you can do about them. A provider cannot meet a deadline? A machine is broken? A product is out of stock? These are a few examples of problems that can arise and are beyond your control. Acknowledging that you cannot control everything that occurs and affects your job and your performance is key to relieve job stress.
Find a good work-life balance
This is one of the most important factors to keep low levels of stress in the workplace. A good work-life balance will help you keep stronger bonds with your family and your loved ones and will allow you to improve your personal life. But it also has benefits for your professional life, as it promotes a better mental health, which in turn would improve your productivity and your wellbeing in the workplace. Nonetheless, in order to set a good work-life balance, you must learn to establish boundaries, such as disconnecting after work (don’t reply e-mails or phone calls in the evening!) or not staying late in the office.
Learn to say “no”
When you say yes to everything you are asked, chances are your managers or your colleagues take advantage of you. If you don’t want to be taken for granted, learn to say no when you feel someone is asking something that is not your responsibility nor your job. Making a favor is okay, but accepting to do everything they ask of you is something completely different.
Change your work
Ultimately, if your work environment does not get better, if you feel you are being bullied or harassed, or if you are stuck with an unrealistic workload or unbearable extra hours, quitting and finding another job may be the best choice. Of course, leaving a job is a difficult decision. It is a very important change that must not be taken lightly, but sometimes it is the most advisable step.
Taking kratom for stress in the workplace can definitely help. However, it will not make the cause that lies behind the stress go away. Acknowledging and facing the problems is crucial to lowering your levels of stress in the workplace, and in some cases, you may even have to take drastic decisions to improve your personal and professional life.
Hi. I’m Amy. I’ve been a big fan of kratom since November 2017. My pain management doctor went on to do better things so I was forced to find new methods. The doctor i was left with decided after one drug test I didn’t need to be on the pain meds anymore so he said he wanted to taper me off. Having been on the regimen for a few years and countless trips to the drugstore along with the judgemental looks and stares I got, I decided it was time to find relief elsewhere. I have suffered from sciatica since 2005 and also degenerative arthritis of the sacroiliac joint. These conditions make for a tough day in the easiest of jobs which mine isn’t. I have been through chiropractic care, physical therapy, steroid shots, various medications from pain meds to antipsychotics. At the one point I had a total of 15 pill bottles in my medicine bag. None were the same. Going through the gauntlet of “maybe this pill will work” to “maybe that one will work better” is a grueling process for the most competent of pain patients. Most of us started out heavily active and working to support families. We have gone from active to bed ridden. If this is difficult try thinking of a high school senior involved in cheerleading, track and basketball along with an afterschool job to being bed ridden and depressed. The change is life altering. I went from working 40 hours a week plus some overtime to not being able to get myself out of bed for over a year. That severity of depression cannot be helped with a pill. When someone discovers this will wind up being their life from now on, it is a huge adjustment. Depression, anxiety, extreme sadness, loss of social skills, and can’t even get up to do dishes: this is a recipe for suicide. The loss of life from tapered medications will keep adding up. Kratom is a substance that has brought my quality of life back to a point where not only am I glad to get out of bed but I’m able to get to work and spend good time with my daughter. My life has done a complete 180 since i started taking it regularly. No one will ever convince me kratom is bad for me . With every prescription I ever picked up I wanted the motivation to do more. I never got that with any pill. The fact that this is not FDA approved is a GOOD thing. The fda is not on our side so the next time you second guess taking kratom because of that, think twice. If you want to HEAL, give it a real shot.
